The VisionIssue 23, No. 6 September 2010A publication of West Florida Baptist Association, a non-profit religious ministry.
Look at the Past...Plan for the Future In November of 1847 the West Florida Baptist Association was organized. At that time it included 6 Florida Counties and 1 Alabama County. In 1884 there were 28 Churches reporting to the West Florida Association's Annual Meeting. Today all of the Churches served by WFBA except 1 are in Washington County with that 1 being just inside Jackson County. Currently we have a total of 18 Churches reporting to the Annual Meeting with a combined membership of 4,591. September 30 brings to a close the 2009-10 Associational Year. We have, at the close of this year, 5 mission ministries sponsored directly through the Association. These ministries are made possible because of the support of all the Churches that make up our Association. This is a good time to say "Thank You" to our Churches for your support. We are not just talking about financial support, although that is important. We are also talking about the many who volunteer their time to come and help carry on these missions. It has been a good year and the Lord has blessed as he always does. As we begin to prepare for the Annual Fall Session, I want to remind the Churches to start thinking about the information for their Annual Church Profile (ACP). This information is important. It helps us to evaluate our progress and gives us an opportunity to work on our weak spots. It is also a good time to begin thinking about electing your messengers for the Annual Meeting. It is important that each Church have their alloted number of messengers because these folks constitute the voting body of our Association. Church participation, or lack there of, determines to a great extent the kind of Association we have. This year we are offering space to all our Churches to display the individual mission and ministry happenings that have been going on in each congregation. We encourage every Church to contact the Associational office and tell us you will be providing a display for others to browse prior to this year's Annual Meeting. The Annual Fall Session will be hosted by Shiloh Baptist on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The evening will begin with dinner at 5:30pm and our meeting session will convene at 6:30pm. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Rick Elligson from the Baptist College of Florida. Please make plans to join us. Again, thanks for all the support. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Session. -- Alcus Brock, Director of Missions

| Baptist Men's Ministry News The Baptist Men of West Florida Baptist Association are involved in a special ministry project greatly needed in our area. For this ministry they are seeking out those in the community who have needs that they are unable to meet. This could be most anything. This is where the Baptist Men come in by providing the labor force. Please be in prayer for this ministry and make your Church aware of it as well. Ask the Lord what He would have you give in assisting with needs in our community. Helping to meet various needs in our community is an ongoing project the Baptist Men are happy to assist with. All funds raised will be used for the purposes of this ministry. If you would like to know more you may contact Bro. Sam Hagan at 850-326-0237 or attend one of our upcoming meetings.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Monthly Planning Breakfast @ Bear's BBQon Wednesday, September 1, 2010 @ 6am |

September 22, 2010- Do you ever feel alone on your campus?
- Do you sometimes feel you’re the only Christian around?
- Is it tough to reach out without standing out?
- But your heart is to reach your friends for Christ, so what do you do?
Well, what if you gathered with other Christians around the flagpole at your school on the morning of September 22 and laid this petition before God, "Father, may Your will be done on my campus as it is in heaven”? What if all of you really meant that prayer? What if your youth pastor stood ready to help you make this a reality? How would that change your school? How would that change the lives of your friends and fellow students? See You at the Pole™ can provide a powerful connection between you and the other Christian students on your campus to pray and reach out all year long. Let See You at the Pole™ be a kick-off for you to truly make a difference this year. Take your place in history with millions of other students on this Global Day of Student Prayer.
