Yes, It Is History Now

As you look over the projects you put on your resolutions list for 2011, you will probably find many that you failed to complete.  If so, don't worry, just roll them over into 2012 and you'll have a new start.  As for myself, I didn't break any resolutions last year because I simply didn't may any.
The Lord tells me in His Word that He has a plan for my life and my responsibility is to find that plan and pursue it.  I think sometimes we decide what we want to do and ask the Lord to put His stamp of approval on our plans.  I have looked at the life of Joseph with a great deal of interest.  He was a dreamer and his dreams came true.  He was also his father's youngest son and was highly favored above his brothers.  This, along with other things, caused his brothers to hate him.  He went through many trials and bad experiences in his life. However, he always responded in a proper Christ-like manner.  God did have a plan and Joseph became the second highest official in Egypt.  He simply traveled the road of life in a quiet, obedient way and, in the end, received the blessings God had prepared for him.
I wonder how many blessings we, as Christians, miss because of the way we react to life's situations.  In this new year, it might just be well to take a good, long look at  God's Word and determine what course He wants us to travel.
In closing, I'd like to tell you about the road traveled by "Love in Action" in the last few months.  Bro. Barry Rockburn and his team of volunteers have done an amazing job in helping children through the Christmas season.  I see where they have provided presents for 139 children.  That's 54 families helped with 314 presents.  In addition to this, they have provided a table of good, used toys, along with wrapping paper and such to those in need.  I want to commend them for a job well done. I believe "Love in Action" has found God's path for their ministry.  May they continue to serve others and be a witness to the community. -- Alcus

Scripture
"When He entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that He was at home. So many people gathered together that there was no more room, not even in the doorway, and He was speaking the message to them. Then they came to Him bringing a paralytic, carried by four men. Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above where He was. And when they had broken through, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying. Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Mark 2:1-5 (HCSB)
